It is all systems go for the DigitalFilipino.com Club fellowship / networking event where e-commerce industry players and bloggers can catch up and exchange updates. This was held on July 18, Saturday, 6 to 9 pm at the Pantawan Hall, Grand Regal Hotel, Lanang, Davao City. And this event is sponsored by their club member,the PAGCOR.
The DigitalFilipino.com Club is an Internet community that was launched last December 25, 2003. It is founded by Janette Toral, site owner of DigitalFilipino.com. The Club currently has nearly 100 members from students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and professionals. And what makes the club unique is its business promotion focus and knowledge sharing culture.
My experience…
This event was very new to me. It’s very peculiar because I had already experience everything because of this event. It’s so good, it’s so nice and i had fun so much. “For the first time” is what all I could say to myself that time. For the first time, I've already been in Grand Regal Hotel and in the PAGCOR where you could find there mostly the old ones. There are a lot of game machines there, and actually I don’t know what the exactly name for it. Hehehe… But I only think that for you to play with it, you should have a ticket as a token for it. But since we are still 20 yrs. of age, that’s why they haven’t given us tickets and we're not allowed to play because only 21 yrs. old and above are allowed.
Anyways, when we were already at the Pantawan Hall at about 6 pm and as we go inside, we were surprised because we didn’t expect that we were going to the place like it because it was so formal with matching the fine dining set-up, buffet and a little production on the stage. Actually, that time we had already our doubts if we were sure that we should be there or thinking that, are we fit for this event? and we were ashamed on it, but then, since we were already there, we’d still go on. In the end, we have no regrets on doing it so. We have our registration first before we seated to our place. You know it’s really unusual to me to attend this kind of event because it was attended by mostly the professionals like the teachers, web developers, programmers, and a lot more. And we are so shy at that time because we are only 6 there out of many IC students who registered online, even our professor, Sir Gamboa. We thought that they were going but they didn’t come. Still, we enjoyed our presence there.
After we registered, we ate already our dinner. And while the program was also started, they begun to have their guest introduction which every one of us there should introduce ourselves and may also plug our blogs. On our dinner, call me ignorant but honestly, it is really my first time to drink wine specifically red wine, hehe that’s why I had my headache that night until the next day though it’s just a taste for me. Actually, I didn’t drink it all even if it is only a one glass because I don’t like the taste and of course, I’m not used to it.
On the other hand, when it is about 7:30 pm, the speaker, Janette Toral had already talked about the “Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs 2009”, “The DigitalFilipino. Com Club Updates” and “The DigitalFilipino Web Awards 2009”. On the top blogs that they have chosen, the one that I have remembered was the blog of “Davao Delicious” which was visited by a lot of readers and searchers because it talks about the experiences of the author, with the foods of Davao that he like most and that the readers have liked it too.
However, the thing that I have learned on blogging was that, the good blog must be all about the experiences, passion, opinions on everything and must be novelty in which this are also the reasons why the top blogs are most visited. Furthermore, after talking about blogging, they have also talked about the PAGCOR Updates and we had played bingo then. On bingo, we have no luck on it because we didn’t won. Huhu… But on the raffle draw, it is so unbelievable because I have won. It is really my first time to won by that because I know that I am not lucky for that. It’s so unexpected! Hahaha.
After the bingo event, we already took pictures there with the other bloggers and we have also given giveaways as a remembrance for this event. I like it and I enjoyed with it.
